Liberty Fabrics presents Aesthetic Renaissance, a collection celebrating the story of their founder, Arthur Lasenby Liberty. We embrace his spirit as traveler, tastemaker and English gentleman sharing stories and anecdotes from the archive and the Liberty legend he created. As one of the original merchant adventurers, Arthur introduced exotic textiles and artifacts from around the world and Liberty became central to the development of the aesthetic movement in the late 1800s. The collection is framed by designs drawn from the English countryside that Arthur escaped to when he left the buzz of his London city store.
HORTENSIA – Taken from one of the pages of a Liberty archive book, Hortensia was first created in the 1880’s. The graphic monochrome hydrangeas and soft geometric background create a unique and interesting layered effect.
