A pattern by Robyn Shapiro
It was mid 2018 that we first introduced you to Robyn’s stunning Heart of the Home Quilt, when it was featured in issue #23 of Make Modern magazine, and it immediately became a crowd favourite!
Robyn’s Heart of the Home Quilt is a variation on the traditional log cabin technique, using braid quilt techniques to great effect. The delicate Liberty Tana Lawn fabrics have been carefully selected in various light and dark tones to create interest and contrast throughout the overall pattern. The result is so impactful – it has become one of our most recognisable and striking quilt patterns.
Originally a scrappy pattern with an element of improvisation – we have recently been busy tweaking the design to keep the measurements more uniform and the print distribution symmetrical, meaning easier to follow step by step instructions that result in an incredible statement quilt!
