Introducing the Phoebe Quilt

Robyn’s beautiful Phoebe Quilt Pattern + Template Set is now available, along with 2 gorgeous fabric kits with all the fabrics, thread, tools and templates needed to complete your own quilt top!

This quilt came about from having fun with and enjoying the versatility of our pre-cut Liberty shapes. Cutting a whole piece of linen to work on and then playing around with the different pre-cut configurations, I found the layout developed into something quite quirky and unexpected. I love the way that the Liberty colours shine and stand out against the solid linen background, and as the design expanded it reminded me of the stars and planets that dance together across the Milky Way!

I picked Phoebe as the name for this quilt pattern – which is also the name of one of my sweet kitties – for a few reasons. In classical mythology, Phoebe is the by-name of Artemis, goddess of the moon – and it is also one of the moons that orbits around Jupiter. It is also of course the name of one of my favourite Liberty floral designs that I have used in this quilt!

Appliqué is one of my favourite hand stitching techniques – once your preparation is done, the stitching on this project is really quite easy and relaxing, and surprisingly quick. I hope you enjoy the process of this quilt as much as I did when creating it – I can’t wait to see the colour combinations you all come up with.

Our good friend Amanda pattern tested the Phoebe pattern for us and we are so in love with her finished quilt! Our Ocean Blue Linen is such a beautiful backdrop to the rainbow of Liberty – in fact we loved it so much that we have kitted it in this colour-way too!
